2017 May to June Classes

Beginning Adult Pottery on the Electric Wheel: Cost is $105 + $30 for materials and firings 

Monday May 15th – Monday June 19th

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

  • Learn to make the basic vessels on the pottery wheel. We’ll start with mugs move on to bowls then progress to lidded containers and vases.
  • Learn different glazing techniques and different surface treatments. Experience a specialized firing on the last class period.
  • All pieces of artwork will be ready to take home by the last class.

Tuesdays May 16th – June 20th

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Intermediate Adult Pottery on the Electric Wheel: Cost is $105 + $30 for materials and firings

Wednesdays May 17th – June 21st

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

  • Learn to make pottery taller and larger around
  • Learn to make platters
  • Learn to make sets of pottery

Adult Sculpture Techniques: Cost is $105 + $30 for materials and firings

Thursdays May 18th- June 22         

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

  • Make sculptures by using the slab roller, a block of clay, the wheel, and the extruder
  • Make something for the wall, the garden, the table, the window
  • All pieces of artwork will be ready to take home by the last class.

Children’s Saturday Workshops :Cost is $25 per Saturday per child which includes instruction, materials and firings.  

Saturdays May 20th – June 29th

10am – noon ~ OR ~ 1pm to 3pm

We’ll try a little bit of everything in these 6 weeks.

  • Saturday, May 20th – Making bowls on the electric wheel
  • Saturday, May 27th – Building an herb garden using the extruder
  • Saturday, June 3rd – Making a personalized tile for a wall in your room using the slab roller
  • Saturday, June 10th – No class. Instructor will be out of town.
  • Saturday, June 17th – Making fairy houses and castles using a preformed cylinder by cutting windows and doors and adding details
  • Saturday, June 24th – Decorate an animal or candle holder to fire in the raku kiln.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch. We’ll serve coffee and you can play with a piece of clay if you would like. Each piece of art can be picked up the following Saturday class period or by arrangement with the instructor.

Bring your best friend, sister, child, spouse, or a group! Experience how to throw vessels on the electric potter’s wheel.10

Cost is $10 per person per hour. People tend to make a two or three items on a date.

Spent some time here, wonderful place. Full of creative energy. Just lets your creative juices flow. I made a lot of slab work and coil work. Great time. Will be a constant visitor. Thank you Kitty for all your patience!
